Ball point needles are most suitable for knit fabrics. The universal point penetrates the fibers of warp or weft. The ball point slides between the fibers to eliminate holes or runs in knit fabrics. The larger the size the heavier the needle. Singer ball point needles are also called "Yellow Band".
