Average Review: Will return it I purchased this machine on sale at Hancock thinking it was a great deal, but I will be returning it. I spend three days trying to make it work and I haven't been able to make one decent stitch. The bobbin does not thread correctly. I followed the instructions and inserted the bobbin with bottom thread numerous times, also asking for help to make sure I wasn't reading the manual wrong. The needle does not catch the bobbin thread. If I force it up to the needle, it still does not work because the thread's tension is not right, so the stiches are horrible, you can see the bottom stitch on the top side, and it's too lose. Something is missing in the bobbin area, whatever is supposed to catch the thread and move it around near the needle is missing. I see the parts moving, but nothing is there to catch the thread. I even took the little screws off and looked at the inside. It makes no sense. After some searches on the internet, I see that many others are having this problem. Fortunately it's within the timeframe allowed for a return! When you look at the sample cloth that was provided by the manufaturer and that is a sample of type of stiches in the machine, you can see that the stiches are not nice: every few, there is one that's too long, too short, and many stitches are not straight. I don't like this machine and it shows that it's not made by Bernina. I would not recommend it. It is a problem with the bobbin I agree witht he lady in San Francisco. I can get the bobbin thread up, but when sewing, the stitches are loose and then real tight and then the threads are all wound around the outside of the bobbin and it locks up. Bought at Hancock Fabrics also. NOT HAPPY. I spend more time unclogging than sewing. Great Machine. I have had it for five years now. I Love this machine. I bought in 2005. It is still growing strong. |
