New Machine after 15 years
I am an experienced seamstress and had my last machine for about 15 years. I was continually having problems with the front loading bobbin and swore I would never own another one like that again. Got the Brother LS-590 yesterday and cannot believe how easy it is to load the bobbin both with thread and then into the machine itself! I sewed the entire afternoon with 4 differenct colors of thread requiring changing the bobbin each time and never had a single issue!! Wish I had gotten this a long time ago!!!

Awesome machine for a beginner
This machine is definately a must have for beginners. I just starting sewing again after 15yrs and this machine is so simple to use, I'm glad I made this purchase.

Great Machine
My 20+ year old sewing machine wasn't working well, so I wanted a new machine for the repairs and minor sewing that I do. This new machine does everything I wanted and the needle threader is a "dream". The machine sews quietly and is simple to understand. I never had a Brother machine before and am very pleased with my choice. I would recommend this machine to everyone.

Beginer Machine for Grand Daughter
My Grand daughter received this for her birthday and was quickly sewing up a storm. The ease of operation and simplicity of the machine were right for her. I would recommend this for beginners and for a second machine. It is light weight and easy to operate.

Great beginner machine!
This is the very first sewing machine I bought last september.. So far it has done everything I wanted plus more! The one thing I haven't figured out how to work on this machine is Shirring... other than that is great machine for a great price!!!

Use this in sewing class - great!
I use these in my sewing classes. I have 4 of these and have used them over a year with over 50 students and most of them kids. Lots of use and they work great. I recommend this one for any beginner student or anyone that would like a great basic machine .. inexpensive and inexpensive to maintain as well.

I love my machine
I haven't sewn in years. I love the machine. The Brothers is very user friendly. I think I made a good choice.

Excellent value. Great starter machine.
I selected the Brother LS-590 for my 6-year-old daughter because it was quiet, had nice stitches, evenly fed the fabric, had a drop-in bobbin, light, thread cutter, automatic needle threader and 1-step button hole. Since it is a single speed machine, I rigged her foot pedal to limit her sewing speed until she gets more comfortable controlling the fabric. She made a doll skirt 1 hour after we got the machine home! Perfect machine for a first sewer! This machine will grow with her skills.
