What a surprise. I sew professionally, but I do not ask more that any machine can do. I do not sew heavy fabrics on a light weight machine. I do sew long hours each day. I am a seamstress, sewing period costume and alterations. Great price and great machine. I bought one for the church sewing group.   A reviewer from Tampa, FL Pleasantly surprised Great little machine for the price. Easy to use. Beautiful stitches regardless of what fabric I place under the needle - including silk. Very lightweight machine (11.2 pounds), so expect a good bit of plastic where you'd normally find metal on heavier weight machines. Not many feet come with the machine, so be sure to buy top load snap on feet when you buy online or at a local Janome dealer. Might not be a bad idea to upgrade to the metal snap on shank while you're at it.
