Average Review: Singer stylist -the best Love my machine it works beautiful compare to my old sewing machine. I purchased it in Jan. this year so far so good,it's very reliable and everything comes up nice and neat. The sound of the machine is quiet.I consider myself a beginner and its an easy machine to learn and now i love sewing. The instructions are good enough but they could be more informative. What a great purchase I am a beginner sewer, and this is my first "real" machine. I have used a thrift store machine before, and it was a nightmare :) The video that comes with this machine is helpful, and the manual has excellent instructions for filling the bobbin and threading the machine. The automatic threader is also wonderful. I completed my first project in only a few days, and I was happy to have the selection of stitches. This machine is light and easy to maneuver. It comes with extra foot petals and a few bobbins. I am ready for my next project! Such an upgrade from my last machine! I bought this machine last week, despite finding very few reviews online, because the features plus the included presser feet couldn't be beat for the price. I'm so glad that I did! And I thought I should leave a review, so the next person debating can at least have one review on this wonderful machine. My first sewing machine was a Singer Esteem II from Target. I got it 7 months ago, began sewing for the first time, and have not stopped since. But there were issues - mainly with the bobbin tension and bunching up - that made me want to upgrade. The best way to describe this new Singer Stylist vs. my old machine is this. Once I drove a 15 year old Honda Civic. Good car, but not luxurious AT ALL. And I drove Corvettes occassionally at work. Can you imagine the difference there? They do the same thing, but one does it with so much more elegance that it hardly seems like they're both cars. That's how this machine is. It's SO quiet. The needle action seems a million times smoother. I used my old machine last night because I was too lazy to switch out needles, and regretted it immediately. The Stylist has me spoiled in just a week. I love it. The stitches are lovely - I've tested a bunch and they really are stuff I'll use. It's easy to pick up. The option to use a presser foot or not is really cool, and handy for long rows of stitches. It really makes sewing less work. I can just SEW, instead of constantly fixing issues with the machine, like I did on my old one. Highly recommend if you're looking for an electronic sewing machine in this price range. (oh, and the ladies at the store were super helpful in my decision-making!) Totally Worth it Just about everyone that I know has a Singer Stylist and I love this machine! SO WORTH IT! For the price that I got you can't beat it and not to mention it's got all of the latest bells and whistles. Awesome, awesome, awesome! love it! I love this machine, it makes sewing so easy. I've enjoyed trying out the different stitches and learning to use the automatic buttonhole. I've used both on a top for my grandaughter! I had no trouble using the drop in bobbin--just follow the instructions and it's easy! The only reason I would not rate it 5 stars is because the work light is so poor. I only wish I had bought this sooner! I purchased the Stylist from Hancock's in January and have really loved it. I had been using a Singer that was 20 years old and when parts could no longer be found to repair it, I bought this machine. I am still learning many sewing techniques, but the included feet have made inserting zippers, making buttonholes and rolled hems very easy. It has made learning more about sewing fun. I, too, struggled with my old machine and wish that I had bought the Stylist sooner! I love it I purchased this machine in October. I love it. People kept telling me to not get a Singer but I love this machine. Singer is it for me. |
